On April 2nd, Titan Roofing and DR Horton traded nail guns for shotguns at the first annual Skeet Shoot at Blackwood.

Thank you to Blackwood for hosting. The facility, staff, and setup were first-class.

The event brought together over 60 people from all across Houston for a day of clay shooting, competition, and camaraderie.

More than 60 people came out for the competition — 51 shooters across 13 teams.

The Competition

Thirteen teams squared off across multiple stations. Whether someone had been shooting their whole life or picked up a shotgun for the first time, the energy stayed competitive from start to finish.

The Winning Team

Congratulations to The Bourne Accuracy — Levi Bradshaw, Jordan Hudspeth, Alec Kretzer, and Corte Shotwell (yes, that's his real name) — who posted a combined score of 219/288 (76% hit rate) and took home the ultimate bragging rights: custom championship rings designed by Ed Brogdon featuring the D.R. Horton logo. If you know Ed, this won't surprise you — he does a similar design for his fantasy football Super Bowl winners every year.

Top Shooter

Levi Bradshaw posted the highest individual score of the day — 64 out of 72, an 89% hit rate — and walked away with a Benelli 20-gauge shotgun. Hard to argue with that kind of accuracy.

Good Sport Award

Chad Smith took home an Academy gift card — because showing up and competing matters as much as the final score.

The People Who Made It Happen

Events like this don't run themselves. Summer Cannon organized the entire competition — built the teams, designed the poster, coordinated logistics, took photos, and handled more behind the scenes than we can list here. This event doesn't happen without her. Thank you, Summer.

Ed and Greg Brogdon — the owners and founders of Titan Roofing — not only hosted the event but were out there all day either with shotguns in hand or making sure everyone was taken care of.

More than a Competition

Events like this are what make the Houston roofing community worth being part of.

Thanks again to Blackwood for the venue, to our sponsors, to Summer for making it all run, and to every person who came out. First annual means there's a second one coming.
